Right now we are after a Learner Services Officer to become a part of our institutions supporting our vision and values based at Porirua campus.

About the role | Te kaupapa

This position is part of the Learner Engagement team, with its purpose to support the team by providing exceptional customer service for WelTec and Whitireia students as well as other stakeholders. 

If you would like to be part of a team who are passionate, energetic and proactively provides a range of support to students’ that aims to enhance their learning journey then we would like to hear from you.  The role is varied and sometimes challenging so requires a person who is adaptable and flexible and has a good understanding of themselves. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide quality responses and advice regarding the services that WelTec and Whitireia provide to students and the public
  • Act as a referral point both in person, via email, chat, text and on the phone as an initial guide to the services provided, assessing quickly the nature of their enquiry and either assisting them or escalating the enquiry as appropriate
  • Monitoring the physical space to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for students and staff
  • Shared responsibility for building supervision, opening and closing procedures with the library staff
  • Managing the photocopying and printing equipment to ensure availability of this resource
  • Collect agreed data and analysis of statistics
  • Lead and participate in student events and activities

Location

This position will be based at the Porirua campus.

Qualification/Experience

Minimum - NCEA level 3

Customer service and experience of working in the tertiary sector and/or with adult learners is desirable.
