The School of Engineering, Built Environment, has a current vacancy for a full time tutor capable of teaching across the disciplines of Quantity Survey. WelTec offers training, support and generous leave provision.

About the Role

Your key responsibilities as a tutor will include course delivery and assessment, management of learning resources, and working as a productive member of an academic team. You will teach courses in the New Zealand Diploma in Construction with strands in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management (Level 6) programme.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful, you must have relevant, practical industry experience, supported by appropriate qualifications in Quantity Surveying. You will need a minimum of a Tertiary qualification in quantity surveying to obtain this position. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Australian and New Zealand Standard Method of Measurement of Building Works. A reasonable level of IT capability in a business environment is also a requirement.

WelTec is looking for someone who is keen to pass on their knowledge and has an enthusiasm for learning and education. A strong customer focus with demonstrated ability to be both flexible and professional will be highly regarded.

Teaching qualifications and experience are not required, however these would be an advantage. Successful applicants without teaching qualifications will be supported to achieve the Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching or similar tertiary teaching qualification.
