About the Role

The WelTec and Whitireia library team thrive on offering a future focused, high quality library service. We are seeking new team members who are enthusiastic, skilled and wanting to contribute to the ongoing success of our students.

The Reference and Liaison role is a vital part of the team who will provide information literacy, reference, and collection management services to students and staff.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate information literacy programmes at all academic levels
• Proactively liaise with internal schools about their teaching, research and other information needs
• Undertake development and management of the library collection
• Develop information literacy resources for students and staff

Location

There are two positions available. One of these positions primary location will be at Te Auaha, our creative institute located on Dixon Street in the Wellington CBD. The other positions primary location will be at the Porirua campus. You’ll be working relatively autonomously, however the successful applicant may need to travel to other campuses in Petone and Porirua as required to maintain/develop relationships and ensure consistent service.

The roles are 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications/Experience

An undergraduate degree and a library qualification or equivalent is desirable.

The ideal candidate has strong relationship building skills, comfortable presenting to groups, can work in a collaborative manner and can demonstrate excellent communication skills. Also, highly desirable is an ability to use your initiative and work proactively.
