Senior Academic Advisor


Permanent, Full time 1.0 FTE

Are you passionate about designing curricula that has an impact for local industries and our communities? Do you want to see tertiary education curricula being developed in a way that it meets the needs of students first whether they are working, thinking about trying something else, or leaving school? We are seeking a passionate and capable person with the relevant skills and experience to advise, support and grow our staff in the design of course and programme curricular.

In this role, you will join a dynamic and supportive team within the Teaching and Learning Directorate who get alongside staff and guide them in their teaching innovation and research activities. WelTec and Whitireia already have established reputations in our communities for vocational education; but we are wanting to enhance what we do and deliver new products.

The successful candidate must possess the following:

  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Experience working in curriculum development in the Aotearoa New Zealand tertiary education sector
  • A demonstrated understanding of curriculum development requirements for tertiary education organisations
  • An understanding of academic evaluative activities and quality assurance
  • Experience in supporting, guiding and enabling others to current responsive and flexible curricular
  • A passion for seeing the development of courses and programmes which make a difference for industries and communities in Aotearoa New Zealand
