Tutor - Counselling and Addictions


2x Full Time and 1x Part Time 0.28 FTE

The successful applicants will have the ability and experience to prepare students to work in the fields of health promotion, policy, clinical intervention, and support work promoting wellbeing and harm reduction to individuals, families, whanau and communities.

You will also be able to help students to interpret and integrate professional competencies, to become ethical and reflective practitioners with a sound theoretical base, and to enable them with a practice understanding of social justice principles and the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A qualification at least one level higher than the programme being taught
  • Be eligible for registration to a professional body
  • Recent Practice or similar experience
  • Tertiary teaching experience
  • Knowledge of the various fields of addiction and addiction counselling
  • An adult teaching qualification

WelTec and Whitireia work together in a strategic partnership that allows us to deliver high-quality vocational education across the Wellington region, with some programmes also offered in Auckland. With this in mind - our staff are based in Porirua, Petone and Wellington city. Whilst the primary location for this role is Porirua, we do require you to be flexible and work on different campuses from time to time.
