Weare after an Electrical Trades Tutor to become part of our institutionssupporting our vision and values based at our Petone campus.

About the role | Te Kaupapa

Keyresponsibilities include facilitating teaching, learning and assessment forelectrical students at pre-trade and apprentice level, with courses including astrong hand-on practical learning component.

Teachingqualification is not essential for this position however preference will begiven to applicants with some ability in teaching, coaching or mentoring youthor young adults e.g. supervising apprentices or other workers on the job.

Successfulapplicants without teaching qualifications will be supported to achieve theDiploma in Tertiary Learning and Teaching or similar tertiary teaching qualificationthrough on-job training and development.

Applicantsshould be registered electricians with broad industry experience, and arelevant qualification (e.g. a New Zealand National Certificate or AdvancedTrade Certificate and/or NZCE).

Key attributes for the role are goodcommunication skills, a positive attitude towards helping younger people learnnew skills and a reasonable level of physical fitness.
