IT Tutor - Teaching in China

Overview

WelTec is seeking 3 to 4 qualified and dynamic IT Tutors for fixed-term teaching roles at partner universities in China. In these positions, you will deliver a range of first- and second-year courses from the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) programme. Courses are delivered in block mode over 3 to 4 weeks. Based on your subject expertise, you may be contracted to teach multiple courses over 3 to 8 weeks. Teaching assignments commence in October 2025.

Subject Areas Required

We are currently seeking tutors with expertise in the following areas:

 Year One BIT Courses:

• Interaction Design Fundamentals – 2 tutors required

 Year Two BIT Courses:

• Systems Analysis and Design – 2 tutors required
• Testing and Secure Coding – 1 tutor required
• Game Development – 1 tutor required

 
Responsibilities:

As an IT Tutor, you will deliver engaging and practical lectures, labs, and tutorials that support student learning. You’ll be expected to update and adapt course materials to ensure they remain relevant and of high quality. Creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment is essential, as is mentoring and guiding students throughout their academic journey. You will also be responsible for assessing student performance and providing constructive feedback to help them succeed.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must hold a minimum master’s degree qualification in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, and have prior teaching or tutoring experience, ideally at a Polytechnic or university level. In addition to the required technical and tertiary teaching experience, applicants must be available and eligible to travel to China from October 2025. While international teaching or travel experience is an advantage, it is not essential.
